Table-toppers Mumbai Indians were on Wednesday fined for maintaining a slow over-rate for the second time in the Indian Premier League with skipper Sachin Tendulkar losing $40,000 after the win against the Kings XI Punjab in Mumbai.

Each of the other members of the team was slapped with a $10,000 fine.

"The IPL today advised that Mumbai Indians have been fined for maintaining a slow over rate during last night's IPL match against Kings XI Punjab in Mumbai," the IPL said in a statement.

At the end of the match, the Mumbai Indians were assessed to be one over behind the required rate after allowances were taken into consideration.

"Since it was their second offense of the season, under the IPL's Code of Conduct relating to minimum over rate offenses, captain Sachin Tendulkar was fined $40,000 and each player in the team $10,000," the IPL statement read.
